This page covers GCSE, for information on Classical Civilisation A-level see here.

Classical Civilisation is only available as OCR GCSE. It is 100% exam based assessment so is accessible to home educators.

The Classical Civilisation specification aims to offer learners the opportunity to study elements of the literature and visual/material culture of the classical world, and acquire an understanding of their social, historical and cultural contexts.

Ancient History could be a complementary or alternative qualification. The questions on the Classical Civilisation papers are shorter marks than the Ancient History. If intending to do both most people start with Classical Civilisation.
